Climate change has emerged as one of the EU's main policies to be tackled, with renewable energy projects being authorised to aid our transition away from foreign oil.

Currently, Europe leads the rest of the world on energy and climate policy whilst stimulating its global markets. It's a fine line to tread, utilising renewable sources of energy whilst maintaining the continent's carbon emission output especially with energy security and competitiveness high on each country's individual agenda.
The below info-graphic demonstrates the continent's sources of fossil fuel-based and renewable power as well as its consumption, showing how Europe is currently trying to offset its carbon output.
