Sales and the 'Talent Magnet'

A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

LIN-KA® Maskinfabrik A/S – your partner in energy! Are you concerned about your heating bill? Or the climate and environmental issues like gobal warming? You should be, and if you are there ways to solve this issues with well-known and well tested technology!!

In Denmark more and more Municipalities is becoming aware of their carbon footprint and the following responsibilities for environment and climate changes. Therefore have more than 2/3 of all Danish Municipalities signed an agreement with Danish Society for Nature Conservation stating that they are a "Climate Municipality" and have committed themselves to reduce their carbon footprint with a percentage each year for a number of years.

The Mayor of Slagelse signed in December 2008 an agreement with the Danish Society for Nature Conservation to become a "Climate Municipality", and obligated the Municipality to an annual reduction in CO2 emissions of min. 2% until 2015. In order to achieve this goal all public institutions are evaluated for the replacement of old fossil fuel fired boilers with new modern biomass technology.

For the second time in twelve months the Municipality of Slagelse have decided to replace a fossil fuel fired boiler with a CO2-neutral solution, a LIN-KA® biomass boiler, which in this case will be firing with wood pellets.

This time it's the Hvilebjerg School and sportscenter in Sørbymagle to have a CO2-neutral plant. After the winter holidays this year the installation was set up with a LIN-KA® biomass boiler, which replaced an annual consumption of approx. 65.000m3 of natural gas, and thus reduces the municipality's CO2 emissions by 146 tons.

In October 2009 became the first LIN-KA® biomass plant for the Municipality of Slagelse put into operation on The Rehabilitation Center for Brain Injuries in Rude. The Center was at the same time connected with underground district heating pipes to the Kindergarten Sputnik and a number of homes for elderly people from the Housing Association of Skælskør. Here were the annual oil consumption approx.100.000l oil also replaced with wood pellets. The annual CO2 reduction after the implementation of this project is approx. 265tons.

The best thing about both projects is that the Municipality of Slagelse saves money on the actual operation. Biofuels are cheaper than both oil and gas, and at the same time fulfilling their commitment to the climate and environmental issues!

City Engineer Søren Juel Larsen from the Municipality says "the Municipality of Slagelse expects a lot from these projects and look forward to several other success regarding reduction of operating cost and CO2 emission improving our Municipality's carbon footprint"

Managing Director Claus M. Larsen welcomes the municipalities in being active in this area and in trying to live up to the title and obligations of a "Climate Municipality". "Here in Slagelse, it is not just talk and politics, here is a municipality that takes their responsibilities serious and do something ... ...."!

LIN-KA® will make sure that these expectations are met. The company has more than 30 years experience working with combustion of many various biomasses, but especially straw, wood chips and pellets. LIN-KA® have over the last 3 decades installed more than 3000 systems mainly in Europe, but also in North America and Eastern Europe. The customers are farms, estates, agriculture, industry, heating plants and in this case municipal institutions.

LIN-KA® was in 2008 awarded the prize as a Gazelle Company for the second year in a row, in recognition of it being one of the fastest-growing businesses in Denmark. "Naturally, we were proud and delighted to have won the prize, which has meant we have been able to help municipalities and a lot of other customers to achieve savings on their heating costs, reduce their carbon footprint and ensure a larger degree of independence from fossil fuels! We hope to be able to continue in this vein in close consultation with our customers, suppliers and of course, our loyal personnel!"
